Well, it’s just about 3 weeks until my cervical disc surgery. About a year ago I noticed that I started dropping more sticks than I usually do. For those who don’t know, all drummers drop sticks. Normally I dump 1 or two per gig but a year ago I was dropping 5 or 6. Then I noticed that three fingers on my right hand went numb. It turned out that two herniated discs were pushing on the nerves to my right arm. I had two options: 1- Live with it with the worst-case scenario being that my entire right arm goes numb, and feeling might not return. 2- Instead of disc fusion, we put in two artificial discs. I’m excited to get this done and get back to the band. We’ll plan on starting up again in January. God bless you guys.
